What Is Port Wine? [VIDEO]

Posted by Beau Farrell on Jul 31, 2015 4:32:57 PM

You may know that Port wine is great for wine cellars and collectors, but what IS Port wine? Port comes from Portugal, and it's a red wine that is made when the fermentation process is stopped by the addition of alcohol – so it's a fortified wine, which gives Port its massive aging potential.

In this edition of Quick Pours, Haskell's President Ted Farrell shares a time-honored British tradition that involves aging Port for decades, and explains why it is such a great wine for stocking your cellar.
