Featured Image

Each year, we compile a list of the best wines we've tasted throughout the year, taste them again (you know, for quality assurance) and then we share the Haskell’s 100 list with you. We've done the legwork, so all you have to do is grab a corkscrew and discover your new favorite bottle of wine.

Here’s a closer look at the wines in our top 10.

The Top 10 Wines in our Haskell's 100

1. Chateau De Maligny Chablis 2018

This is an elegant white wine with a delicate floral nose and is balanced with mineral notes. It is complex yet vivid, with a long finish that slowly reveals its layers of flavor.

2. Nuits St. Georges Aux Herbues Marchand–2017 and/or 2019.

The way to describe this wine is that it is a charming mix of red and dark fruit flavors, with hints of spice. Balanced tannins give this wine good structure while the acidity helps to keep it fresh and vibrant.

3. 1881 Napa Cabernet

This is a classic favorite. Harvested from vineyards across Napa Valley, this bold Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of warmer climate hillside vineyard fruit and valley floor fruit creating a wine that celebrates the region’s diversity and complexity.  It has hints of ripe dark fruit, along with oak and spice notes. It is intense, well structured, and will pair beautifully with a variety of meats.

4. Morgon Le Meilleur Des Deux Mondes

This beaujolais wine is a unique and special offering with an aroma of violets and licorice. This medium-bodied red also has flavors of plums, cherries, and herbs.

5. Founders Ranch Chardonnay

The creamy texture of this Napa Valley Chardonnay mingles with stone fruit flavors with notes of toasted almonds and a bright and refreshing finish. Enticing aromas of pear, green apple, lemon zest and key lime pie waft from the glass. Crisp flavors of mango and peach are complemented by notes of toasted almonds and honeysuckle.

6. Bourgogne Blanc Jean Claude Poisson

This delicious white wine with lovely aromas of flowers, almonds, and hazelnuts is a French favorite. On the palate, it has a great mineral backbone and flavors of ripe pears and melon.

7. Domaine L'Obrieu Cotes Du Rhone

This delicious red offers aromas of dark cherry, blueberry, and herbs. On the palate, it has flavors of berries, spices, and hints of cocoa.

8. Masso Antico Primitivo

This is an intense Italian red from Puglia. It has aromas of dark berries and sweet tobacco, with flavors of blackberries, cherries, and a hint of licorice.

9. Tavel Cuvee Royale

This unique and special rosé has aromas of red berries, citrus, and herbs. On the palate, it is light bodied yet flavorful with a fresh acidity that makes it perfect for sipping. The winemaker Tavel is in the south of France, in the heart of the Rhone Valley.

10. Navigator Cabernet Sauvignon

Enjoy this full-bodied and complex red from California paired with red meats or hard cheeses. With aromas of dark fruits, cedar, and spice, this wine has a smooth texture and flavors of blackberry jam and tobacco.

You’ve got all year to hunt out these wines and decide which ones are your favorites. You can find them all at Haskell’s right now and we’d be happy to discuss some of our other favorites if you want to branch out even more.
