Sonoma Wine Country Getaway

Escape to a Favorite Wine Destination

It’s a New Year and time for a new adventure. Doesn’t a little California dreaming sound good right around this time (and temperature)? So, sit back and take an armchair tour of the birthplace of the California wine industry - Sonoma County - and perhaps you’ll consider joining us on a Sonoma Wine Country Getaway in April. After all, by then you’ll want to escape those April showers and come back to May flowers.

Sonoma County is just north of San Francisco, stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Mayacamas Mountains and is home to more than 400 wineries and 16 distinct appellations with more than 50 grape varieties grown. You’ll find exemplary Chardonnay and Pinot grapes, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot throughout the region – just to name a few.

Let’s look at some of the wineries on the April tour and what you can expect to sip, savor and experience.

Cline Cellars

Located on an historic 350-acre estate in the gorgeous Carneros Valley region of Sonoma County, Cline Cellars sustainably farms and crafts Single Vineyard, Sonoma County, Ancient Vine and California wines. Sip wines in the tasting room of the 1853 farmhouse.

Jacuzzi Family Vineyards

Across from Cline Cellars, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards named after the Italian immigrants who planted their first vines during the depression. And yes, they are the same that family that brought us the famous Jacuzzi bath and spas. When words fail, pictures don’t. Enjoy a video tour this exquisite Sonoma vineyard.

Arrowood Vineyards

Beautiful grounds, delicious wines and a tasting room in a New England Style property. The certified organic Estate vineyard features eight acres planted with Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier and Petit Verdot.

Ferrari-Cerano Vineyards & Winery

From Cabernet to Chardonnay including the fantastic Fume Blanc, you’ll taste extraordinary wine from either the stunning garden views or underground cellar.

Gustafson Family Vineyards

This estate includes 20 acres of varieties including Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Rosé of Syrah.

Buena Vista Winery

The past and the future meet at this pioneering estate that goes back to 1857.  Buena  Vista is California’s first premium winery and has quite the wine history.

Pedroncelli Vineyard

There is something wonderful about a Rosé which you’ll find plentiful here along with other fine wines at this family owned estate.

DeLoach Vine

Utilizing eco-friendly farming practices, this pioneering producer and winegrower of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley has been experimenting with and perfecting the best combinations of soil, rootstock and clones for over three decades. That brings us some fantastic tasting wines.
