Whether you are spreading out a blanket at the beach, gathering in the park, or setting up in your own backyard, picnics invite us to slow down and savor the season. Fresh air, delicious food, and great company are a recipe for memorable summer moments. Of course, no picnic basket is complete without the perfect bottle of wine. The right pairing can elevate everything from a simple charcuterie board to a spread of salads, seafood, and grilled favorites. If you’re planning your next outdoor gathering, here are a few wines that deserve a spot in your picnic basket. # Rosé Rosé is practically synonymous with summer. Its bright fruit flavors and refreshing acidity make it one of the most versatile wines for warm-weather entertaining. A rosé can take a chill better than many other wines. You can bury the bottle in a cooler and get it ice cold, yet it will retain all of its flavors and refreshing character. Pair it with fruit salads, sushi rolls, seafood dishes, or light pasta salads.   We recommend [Sancerre Rosé Benoit Girard](https://haskells.com/sancerre-rose-benoit-girard/) for its elegance and crisp finish. Sancerre has become one of the most talked-about wine regions in recent years, and this rosé is a great example of why. Bright, refreshing, and beautifully balanced, it delivers the quality and charm that have made the region a favorite among wine enthusiasts.  Looking for a budget-friendly option? [**Haskell’s Maison Rosé**](https://haskells.com/haskell-s-maison-rose/) is a picnic favorite. With its convenient screw-top closure and price tag under $15, it is as practical as it is delicious. # Sauvignon Blanc Sauvignon Blanc  is a grape varietal that many people are flocking to. The wine is not as heavy and bold as chardonnay and not as light as pinot grigio. When it comes to fresh, vibrant flavors, Sauvignon Blanc is hard to beat. Its citrusy, herbaceous character pairs beautifully with green salads, grilled vegetables, goat cheese, and seafood. If you are looking for an affordable crowd-pleaser, [**Silver Beach Sauvignon Blanc**](https://haskells.com/silver-beach-sauvignon-blanc/) from New Zealand's Marlborough district delivers bright, refreshing flavors without stretching your budget. For a more elevated picnic experience,[**Salt Wine Company Sauvignon Blanc**](https://haskells.com/salt-wine-company-sauvignon-blanc/) from Washington offers enticing aromas of citrus, honeydew melon, and tropical spice that will complement a variety of summer dishes. # Pinot Grigio Pinot Grigio is another picnic essential. Crisp, light-bodied, and easy to enjoy, it pairs wonderfully with a wide range of appetizers and snack-style foods. Think charcuterie boards, hummus and vegetables, bruschetta, mild cheeses, and even chocolate-covered treats. For your next outing, consider [**La Gondola Pinot Grigio**](https://haskells.com/la-gondola-pinot-grigio/)or [**Cantina Della Torre Pinot Grigio**](https://haskells.com/cantina-della-torre-pinot-grigio/), both excellent choices for effortless summer sipping. # Beaujolais Red wine lovers do not have to sit summer picnics out. **Beaujolais** (pronounced boh-zho-LAY) is light, fruity, and low in tannins, making it an ideal choice for warm-weather gatherings. For an extra-refreshing experience, try serving it with a slight chill. Made from Gamay grapes, Beaujolais offers vibrant berry flavors with delicate floral notes. It pairs beautifully with grilled chicken, pork, sandwiches, and roasted vegetables. [**Beaujolais Villages Charles Vienot**](https://haskells.com/beaujolais-villages-charles-vienot/) is a wonderful bottle to bring along for your next picnic. # Prosecco Nothing says celebration quite like bubbles. Prosecco’s lively effervescence and delicate fruit flavors make it a festive addition to any picnic spread. It pairs especially well with fresh fruit, soft cheeses, salty snacks, and light desserts. We recommend [**Bacio Della Luna Prosecco**](https://haskells.com/bacio-della-luna-brut-prosecco/)or [**Cavatina Prosecco**](https://haskells.com/cavatina-prosecco/), but there are plenty of excellent options to explore. Pop the cork, pour a glass, and toast to long summer days. # Cheers to Picnic Season A thoughtfully packed picnic, delicious food, and a well-chosen bottle of wine are some of summer’s simplest pleasures. Whether you prefer the crisp citrus notes of Sauvignon Blanc, the easy elegance of rosé, or the celebratory sparkle of Prosecco, there is a wine to complement every picnic menu. So grab your favorite blanket, fill your basket with seasonal bites, and uncork a bottle that makes the moment even more memorable. Here’s to sunshine, good company, and making the most of picnic season.
