You may know that Port wine is great for wine cellars and collectors, but what IS Port wine? Port comes from Portugal, and it's a red wine that is made when the fermentation process is stopped by the addition of alcohol – so it's a fortified wine, which gives Port its massive aging potential.
In fact, certain Port wines can last on your shelf or in your cellar for indefinite periods of time. In this edition of Quick Pours, Haskell's President Ted Farrell shares a time-honored British tradition that involves aging Port for decades, and explains why it is such a great wine for stocking your cellar.
